Susan B. Reed joined the litigation section of the firm in November 2002. Previously Attorney Reed handled personal injury cases and real estate litigation for the law firm of Thatcher and Lanza, of Flemington, New Jersey.
From 1991 to 2002 Attorney Reed served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. While an Assistant Prosecutor, Attorney Reed was the Chief of the White Collar Crime Unit, the Confidential Unit, and the Computer Crime Unit. Attorney Reed prosecuted cases involving fraudulent activities, official misconduct, and computer related offenses. Attorney Reed also served as a Managing Assistant Prosecutor where she supervised Assistant Prosecutors and provided advice to the First Assistant regarding policy, procedure, budget, and other managerial issues. Attorney Reed was named Prosecutor of the Year in 1996.
Prior to joining the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Attorney Reed was a partner at the law firm of Gannon, Murphy and Schwartz, of Morristown, New Jersey. There, Attorney Reed handled criminal, municipal, matrimonial, estate, adoptions, expungements, real estate, personal injury, and commercial litigation cases.
Attorney Reed completed a one year clerkship for the Honorable John F. Kingfield from 1987 to 1988 in Warren County. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton and her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from George Washington University. Attorney Reed is admitted to the New Jersey Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.
She is a member of the Morris County and New Jersey Bar Associations, the American Association for Justice, and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She also sat on the District XA Ethics Committee and is a Pupil in the Justice James H. Coleman, Jr., New Jersey Workers’ Compensation American Inn of Court.
